Uncas House – A Community-Based Residential Facility

Uncas House is an 8-bed, 7,410-square-foot, Wisconsin DHS-licensed Community-Based Residential Facility (CBRF) designed to serve individuals with complex and persistent mental illnesses. Located at 429 W. Uncas Avenue in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, the property offers a safe, supportive, and least restrictive environment for long-term residents who have transitioned from institutional psychiatric care to a community setting. The two-story facility includes a spacious recreation area in the lower level for leisure and therapeutic activities.

Built in 2015, Uncas House sits on 2.16 acres of wooded land, providing a natural setting ideal for outdoor activities, picnics, and relaxation. The wooded surroundings create a peaceful environment that enhances the therapeutic experience for residents, promoting well-being and community engagement.

The property is located at the west terminus of W. Uncas Avenue, near the cul-de-sac within the northwest quadrant of S. Howell Avenue and W. College Avenue, in the far south end of the City of Milwaukee. This location combines accessibility with privacy, making Uncas House an excellent choice for recovery and reintegration into the community.
